As a result of the pandemic, intimate Bohemian weddings and small outdoor ceremonies are on the rise, and our brides are looking for something a bit more unusual for their wedding day. And wedding dresses are no exception, so here at Oscar Lili, we think about the material we use for our designs so that we create as little waste as possible. We make sure to always be responsible with the choices we make, and use as much fabric as we can including off-cuts and excess trims. For instance, any fabric not used in our wedding dresses we use to make our bridal face masks and accessories so that nothing goes to waste. This means you can consider all the details and have an entirely matching outfit! We also take great care in re-designing sample bridal gowns, so as not to completely start from the beginning. This gives the dress a new life, and hopefully a new owner. By using better materials, this, in turn, increases the quality which makes our bridal dresses look and feel more luxurious. For example, silk has a low environmental impact and is completely biodegradable. At Oscar Lili we do want our designs to stand out and be sustainable, so using high-quality fabrics ensures high standards. Lace is a big part of our designs, from our bridal boleros to accents on wedding dresses. One of our most popular wedding dresses in the Oscar Lili studio at the moment is Athénaïs from Élysée bridal design. In our opinion a floral design will always be a classic. The Eve design is so gorgeous we had to make it into separates and a dress! The Eve design is perfect for those having a gorgeous outside wedding or just love anything to do with botanicals. The Eve wedding dress is a stunning V neck style with the back of the dress mirroring the V. The gorgeous twist of this dress is the back is entirely covered in the chiffon overlay, with the front of the top made from the double crepe. The structure of the top creates a flattering shape which falls into the full a-line skirt. The silk lining of the skirt allows for easy movement for the bride to move around on her special day. If you want to match the bridal top or skirt with another Oscar Lili creation this is also possible. The top and skirt are equally as stunning by themselves! We at Oscar Lili are very excited to share the new 2021 bridal collection for all the future brides to be! There is something to suit each bride, and one of our new favourites is the Una wedding dress. It is perfect for all the boho brides out there. Its floral design is perfect for a rustic or beach wedding, think the Cow Shed in Crail or Harvest Moon near Tyninghame, East Lothian.  With its simple floor length design, the real statement is the embroidery on the bodice and skirt. The V-neckline with the low back adds a fun touch while having a classic silhouette. The back is accessorised with covered buttons which add a sophisticated element, along with the satin belt to emphasise the waist.
