We wish all the congratulations to our lovely bride Bethan and her husband Craig who had the happiest micro-wedding back in May. Bethan was a dream to work with and really embraced the freedom she had to customise her dress with us. Initially looking for bridal separates we tried lots of different options before coming to the conclusion that we would make her a dress combing all of her favourite design features. She opted for this pretty and modern A-line style with the most fun tulle skirt covered in large sequinned flowers to give her a truly unique bridal style. The minimal boat neck bodice gives this dress the perfect balance of modern elegance and Bethan looks so so fab! Photographer: Ciara Menzies (https://www.ciaramenzies.com/weddings) Venue: St. Paul’s and St. George’s Church for the ceremony (https://www.psandgs.org.uk/ )/ The Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club (https://www.dalmahoyhotelandcountryclub.co.uk/) Florist: Rose and Ammi (https://roseandammiflowers.com/) Hair/Make-Up: MadeUp Team (https://www.themadeupteam.com/) Bethan said: I couldn’t have been happier with my whole experience at La Novia/ Oscar Lili. It was a dream come true being able to mix and match tops and skirts to be able to design my own bespoke wedding dress which was just perfect for me. There is such a diverse range of dresses and lots of beautiful styles for a modern bride which I loved. Liliana was so helpful and I felt amazing and comfortable in my dress on my wedding day. My dress was really ‘me’ and felt so personal - I couldn’t have loved it more! Our wedding was small due to covid-19 restrictions however it ended up being more special than we could have imagined. We are planning to have an anniversary party next year with all the people we couldn’t have and I can’t wait to wear my dress again! Thank you!I should also mention that I loved the eco-conscious focus of Oscar Lili and it was really important to me that my wedding dress was made from sustainable fabric!
This gorgeous Oscar Lili bride Wow-ed us with these atmospheric wedding photos (Juliette Lichman Photography) which captured so many beautiful details, as well as this couple’s joy all through their day. Amanda & James have the biggest smiles in all of their photos, and we had all the feels getting an insight into their lovely day when trying to choose a few of our favourite images. Amanda looks beyond stunning in her Stella York (6979) wedding dress, which she chose in a sparkling soft blush shade to give her a twist on a traditional bridal style. This strapless design with its fishtail silhouette fitted Amanda to perfection and gave her a bit of glam for her special day. The baroque ivory lace overlay emphasises the lace design detail and this mix of tones look absolutely perfect with the pink and neutrals of Amanda’s huge bouquet from Feather Grass Florals - isn’t it just stunning! Their intimate ceremony was elegant and perfectly styled with modern foliage, and the rustic vibe of their venue allowed for a relaxed and romantic setting. Despite having to postpone due to covid, we’re so pleased this couple eventually got to have their beautiful day and we wish them all the congratulations from the Oscar Lili team! We love a sunny destination wedding, and after seeing these amazing photos from Antonia’s wedding day, we were not disappointed. If you want a romantic getaway wedding then where better than a historic hilltop village surrounded by gorgeous countryside and vineyards… Choosing to get married in Antonia’s family hometown of Monforte, in the beautiful Lazio region of Italy, Antonia and her husband James took a personal and laid-back approach to their wedding planning; opting to design and decorate most of their day themselves with simple lighting, and handmade decorations for a rustic and quintessentially Italian feel. With the help of Antonia’s parents they even sourced wood from the surrounding mountains to create their own take on the wedding arch. As you can see from these photos fuss-free was the way to go and their day looked gorgeous! Antonia’s bridal look combined our Oscar Lili separates into a customised design and was just the right balance of relaxed and elegant, which worked perfectly for the occasion being a warm summer wedding. The ceremony took place in the local church which requires an element of tradition when it comes to a bridal gown, therefore the delicate French Fiona lace bolero was an ideal addition with a refined boat neckline and long sleeves. Having a bolero layered over Antonia’s customized wedding gown, made by our very own Liliana Dabic for Oscar Lili, was the perfect way to bring versatility to the look. After the ceremony and their meal, the couple hired a square in the neighbouring village where all the locals could get involved and enjoy the celebrations along with the guests. Antonia’s wedding dress was a simple and sleek strapless style which accentuated her figure with a plain waistband. The intricate beaded lace overlay on the skirt added some sparkle and a touch of glamour perfect for the evening party time in the piazza, and it also paired beautifully with her cute gold heels which gave her wedding style a stylish twist.
We are thrilled to see Sian and Ross’s gorgeous Winter wedding photos from their day at Gilmerton House back in December. Their photographer Karol Makula, really captured the essence of their wedding and made us wish we were there! The lovely bride Sian wore our Emily dress which complimented the traditional theme of her wedding day perfectly. Set in a beautiful Georgian house, the venue was filled with antique charm along with the couple’s tasteful choice of decor; including simple foliage and gold candelabras creating the loveliest, romantic atmosphere. The Emily dress is a style which gave our bride something different, with the combination of classic champagne silk, and modern beaded lace for sparkle. Sian completed her look with a satin edged veil by La Novia Edinburgh, followed by a birdcage hairpiece for the evening which gave her look a vintage inspired twist. Her flowers created by the Stockbridge Flower Company, were perfectly understated in soft ivory and greens, complimenting the forest green which Sian chose for her bridesmaids dresses. Wishing a belated congratulations to the happy couple. What a beautiful day, and definitely one to provide our brides-to-be with some dream wedding inspo!
This Cornish seaside wedding is everything we need to lift the spirits and give you bliss, beachy wedding inspo! Our bride Mariette got married at the beautiful Porthpean House - aptly nicknamed The Big Beautiful Beach House - where she enjoyed an intimate and relaxed ceremony. It was tastefully decorated with simple foliage, and less was more with the antique charm of the house itself. We really enjoyed helping Mariette style her wedding look with us at our Morningside, Edinburgh boutique, and loved her effortless, elegant outfit created with our bridal separates. She already had a lovely floaty skirt which she wanted to wear on her day, so our job was to help her select the perfect bolero, which was our high neck, French lace style with delicate pearl beading around the neck and cuffs (style 627). Mariette instantly fell in love with this design and finished it off with the Lisa bodice underneath, and a single layer veil for simplicity. She channeled a boho bride style and looked glowing, enjoying some lovely strolls along the Cornwall coastline after her ceremony; beautifully captured by Salt & Sea Photography Co. The bride’s gorgeous natural bouquet was made by Lafonia Flower Company.
Corrine wore the strapless luxurious satin Julia dress by La Novia for her wedding day, opting for a bridal look with a timeless A-line silhouette which was paired with our best-selling Nikki bridal bolero to add lovely lace detail to her look. Corrine and Stuart chose the stunning 19th century Cambo Estate in East Neuk, Fife as the venue for their wedding day. The woodland, gardens and beach that surround the estate were a real selling point as they wanted to achieve an organic feel when designing their day; nature really played a part in it, and we can see this from all the beautiful photos captured by Caro Weiss Photography in the surrounding landscape. Along with the marquee festival theme, personal touches were spread throughout; it was a team effort the day before the wedding to make their gorgeously chic floral hoops which hung in marquee, and greenery and foraged flowers were used to decorate the tables. This natural theme went so well with Corrine’s bridal look which was soft and classic, yet contemporary with the addition of her dark red lip colour, and the textured lace Nikki bolero by Oscar Lili which added some sparkle from the embroidered beads and sequins. We loved the dusty pink and green tones of Corrine’s colour palette, and going for the less traditional approach by having her bridesmaids in different coloured skirts was a lovely touch. The floristry brought all of the beautiful colours and textures together and was done by Cath Reilly. Corrine told us that her “day was perfect. So much planning goes into a wedding and it was amazing to see it all come together on the day. We wanted our wedding to be full of friends, family, braw food, some right good beer – artfully brewed by the best man – and amazing music. A right good party.” Both the Oscar Lili and La Novia team are so happy for Stuart and Corrine, and loved to see how amazing their day turned out. Congratulations!
Our lovely bride Belinda got married to her husband Aaron at The Vu, Bathgate, where they enjoyed gorgeous views and photo opportunities over Ballencrieff Reservoir. Her wedding album was filled with natural and warm photos which captured the happiness of her day, thanks to Picturesque Wedding Photography (https://picturesquewedding.com/). Belinda looked sophisticated and glowing, and made a stylish entrance arriving with her bridesmaids in a classic vintage car. We loved her bridesmaids dresses in deep forest green, perfect for a winter wedding, with a touch of lace to mirror the bride’s dress. For her bridal look she chose a romantic textured lace wedding gown from our Stella York collection (style 6569) with all over beading to make sure she sparkled on her wedding day. The off-shoulder style was so flattering and the open lace back of this dress was gorgeous on Belinda. We love that she wore a short white faux fur jacket which finished off her look and added the ultimate touch of glamour (as well as keeping off the windy winter chill!). We are so thrilled Belinda found her perfect dress with us and she said: “I just want to say a massive thank you to Lilliana for helping me to find the one and for making sure the fit and every little detail of the dress was just perfect! I can honestly say I felt amazing on my big day and cannot thank Lilliana and the rest of the team enough! Loved meeting Oscar too.” We were touched by her kind words, and it is so rewarding to hear your feedback as we strive to make sure everything is just right for each and every bride who gets their wedding dress with us. Thank you and huge congratulations to Belinda and Aaron, we wish you all the very best.
The stunning La Novia bride Aileen summed up perfection in our Oscar Lili Marianna satin gown customized with a delicate French lace bolero to give her an elegant long-sleeved bridal look for her winter wedding. This West Coast wedding in the rural setting of GG’s Yard near Dumfries, gave Stewart & Aileen the dreamiest of countryside views, and their romantic venue was finished off with refined Scottish decor and Traditional tartans. Talking of tartans, we need to compliment the Groom for looking just as fab as the bride in his full kilt outfit. We couldn’t have been more proud of Aileen in her gown, and we LOVE how she accessorized her bridal look. We enjoy nothing more than when our brides style up their looks and bring together different pieces to give their wedding dress that extra oomph! Aileen did not disappoint, picking out the perfect combination of a crystal encrusted belt and hair piece to add some sparkle to her classic style. The bride’s showstopper however, was the extra long veil decorated with hand-sewn lace appliques. A cathedral veil is one way to add drama to your entrance, and we’re sure Aileen’s guests were wowed as she walked down the aisle. Thank you so much to Aileen and Stewart for sharing your photos with us, SimonsStudio (www.simonsstudio.co.uk) did such a wonderful job capturing the moments of your day. Congratulations from all of us at La Novia, we wish you all the best.
Since it’s now well and truly Autumn, we’ve been reminiscing over all of the gorgeous summer wedding photos our brides have been sharing with us and came across this lovely couple, Kyle and Helen, who got married back in August. Helen got in touch to say “we had the perfect day and the dress was everything I wanted it to be. Thank you for everything!” These huge smiles say it all, and we are so proud to see Helen looking elegant and effortless in this Oscar Lili bridal design. She went for the Simone wedding dress which has a sweet vintage style lace bodice with cap sleeves for a relaxed and delicate look. The V-neckline and low V-back of the dress balance out the design and give it a youthful and feminine touch, whilst being so flattering on the figure. The crepe skirt is free-flowing and also draped perfectly on Helen, making the gown easy-wearing, and lightweight for a Summer wedding. Helen and Kyle’s wedding took place at St Magnus Cathedral in Orkney. A stunning, historic venue which combines traditional elements with an intimate feel. Helen styled the Simone bridal gown perfectly for the occasion by wearing a simple single layered chapel length veil which kept her look classic and sophisticated; the lace edging was a beautiful compliment to the dress and added a finishing touch with no fuss. We also loved the choice of clean white roses for the bouquet, made by local Orkney florist Flooers (https://www.flooers.co.uk/). A gorgeously simple Island wedding, what more could you want? Congratulations to Kyle and Helen, we’re so happy to have contributed to your perfect day. Photography credit: Fiona Scott (https://www.fionascottphotography.com/)
This week, the lovely Gintare got in touch to say “thank you for all your help getting my wedding dress. I was super happy with how I looked on my wedding day thanks to you!” We are also super happy as Gintare looked stunning and certainly did this Enzoani dress justice. Her bridal gown was a design from the Enzoani Beautiful Collection, style BT19-07; the bodice is fitted and strapless with a plunge sweetheart neck which is contemporary, flattering and looked lovely on Gintare, being so petite. The all-over embroidered Chantilly lace gave her a subtle bohemian feel and we love the romantic addition of the delicate off-shoulder lace strap details. The lightweight flowing tulle fabric gives a beautiful A-line drape to the skirt which combined with the eyelash lace, created a relaxed and ethereal look. This was a perfect style worn with the long chapel length veil to bring a classic element, as the wedding ceremony was held in a traditional Roman Catholic church, followed by a breathtaking Lithuanian lakeside spa town called Druskininkai, where the reception took place. Gintare’s colour scheme was “harmonious pale pink, gold and ivory, and the main flowers featured were rose peonies”. The soft floral theme complimented this romantic bridal gown and accentuated the organic floral lace which is popular amongst Enzoani styles. We’re so happy to have helped Gintare find this gorgeous dress as it looks like it was made for her, she told us that “everything was perfect” with her day and we’re thrilled to have been a part of it.
